The Delhi Development Authority has developed the beautiful Bougainvillea Garden at Sector 19 B of Dwarka, the subcity of New Delhi. This garden is developed on 4.14 acres of land. The Garden harbors 38 different varieties of Bougainvillea. Its popularity lies in the unique characteristic of the garden, wherein many varieties display riots of colors throughout the year.
Bougainvillea is an ornamental shrub plant known for its beautiful variegated flowers. It blooms throughout the year in warmer climates. It can be pruned to standard, but is also grown in containers as a shrub, along fences as a hedge, on walls as a climber. When planted on hanging baskets, its drooping down foliage & flowers, creates visual treat for visitors as well as inmates of building. It can be trained in varied shapes and clusters of bowers, arcs or pergolas .
