A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a framework for gathering, managing, and analyzing data. GIS is a technological field that incorporates geographical features with tabular data in order to map, analyze, and assess real-world problems.
GIS Unit, DDA is involved in the proposals such as, mapping and preparation of a geo-database of applications participating under the land pooling scheme, providing input for Delhi Base map for in-house preparation of MPD-2041, etc.
Currently, as stipulated in Ease of Doing Business, all the layout plans of Delhi are to be placed on A GIS-based platform. Accordingly, DDA is in process for development of a web-based portal to display digitized and geo-referenced Layout Plans of Delhi.
A preliminary portal has been created that displays all the Layout Plans provided by Urban Local Bodies, DUSIB, L&DO, DSIIDC, etc. and those available with DDA have been digitized and geo-referenced.
