ASITA EAST

INTRODUCTION

Part of the Project Asita, which is a second name of River Yamuna in the ancient literature, Asita East lies on the eastern bank of River Yamuna. Spanning from Old Railway Bridge to ITO Barrage and measuring approximately 197 Hectares, the site is a narrow strip towards the north and widens towards the south. Its close proximity to dense residential areas of East Delhi, leads to the occurrence of periodic congregational and religious activities. A part of the total area lies in the jurisdiction of UP Irrigation Department along the Pushta Road also, that would be developed by DDA.
